Job Requirements

• At least 4-6 years' experience as a Japanese interpreter/translator in any industry.
• Candidate who is a Japanese speaker and has worked in a Japanese working environment for at least 4-6 years is also encouraged to applied
• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in any field.
• Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N1 or above.
• English language proficiency equivalent to CEFR C1 or above.
• Experience in verbal interpretation in any industry.
• Good communication skills, comfortable working with various stakeholders
• Good proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors.
• Good knowledge of content editing tools.
• Familiarity with translation software is a plus.
• Knowledge in the gaming industry is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience on project coordination or project management is a plus.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Translate from Japanese to English and vice versa for project spec sheet, feedback, conversation, PowerPoint presentation, technical reports and emails.
• Perform consecutive or simultaneous interpretation, or sometimes both when needed, for project meetings and discussions between Japanese clients and local staff members, both consecutive and simultaneous.
• Assist expatriate Japanese as real time interpreter during meetings and discussion.
• Assist with recruiting and interviewing candidates for needed positions.
• Consistent quality of work while staying on schedule.
• Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone.
• Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy.
• Follow up with internal team members and clients to ensure translation meets their needs.
